Public art, made clear.
Whether council has asked for a Public Art Plan or you want art that makes your project stand out, we help you work out what’s needed, what it should look like, and who should make it, in plain language, with no surprises on cost.
How we work
Every engagement is a fixed fee, agreed before we start. We never take commissions, mark-ups, or referral fees from artists or suppliers. Our only income is our consulting fee, and we’ll show you exactly where your money goes.
Start at any stage.

Expert advice, by the hour.
Already have an architect or designer preparing your public art plan? Bring us in for the conversation that matters. We join your pre-lodgement meetings, translate what council is asking for, and help you present an approach that meets the condition.
Includes
Attending pre-lodgement meetings with council (in person or online)
Explaining council’s public art conditions and policy in plain language
Advice on how your proposed approach is likely to land with council officers
A short written summary after each meeting
Optional review of a draft Public Art Plan prepared by someone else
Billed hourly. Rates are provided on enquiry. If you later engage us for a Public Art Plan, we credit part of your advisory fees.
Best for: developers with a plan already in progress who want an arts-literate expert in the room, not a full engagement.
Need the plan written too? See Planning + Strategy below.

Whether you’re in the pre-DA stage or early project planning, engaging us early helps integrate art from the outset. We research each project and site, identify art opportunities and develop a curatorial framework that connects art, people and place.
Working closely with architects, landscape architects, designers and developers, we shape an art strategy that supports the shared vision for the project. We also liaise with council on your behalf and can present the strategy to them and other stakeholders to build understanding and support for the proposed direction.
Services within this stage:
Preliminary Public Art Plan: a clear plan formatted for your DA submission, grounded in your site and council requirements, for single buildings, smaller mixed-use projects and other smaller developments
Public Art Strategy: a comprehensive strategy for large-scale developments and precincts, setting the curatorial direction, themes and opportunities across the whole site
Corporate Collection Strategy: an art strategy for offices, hotels and commercial interiors
Best for: projects with a DA condition that need a plan, precinct-scale developments, and teams who want art considered from the start rather than added late.
Not sure which applies? Tell us about your project and we’ll recommend the right starting point.

Once the preliminary planning and curatorial framework are confirmed, we identify artists and artworks that connect with your project’s vision, site and community. Through artist research and clear selection criteria, we develop considered shortlists for your review.
Artists are selected on their fit for your project: how well their practice answers the established curatorial framework, alongside their artistic integrity and proven ability to deliver work of quality. You make the final decision.
Services within this stage
Artist Selection: a list of suitable artists with profiles and a rationale for each, narrowed to a shortlist against agreed criteria. Where the project suits it, we run an Expression of Interest or open call, facilitate interviews, and deliver a curation report with an appointment recommendation.
Artwork Selection: recommending specific artworks for your spaces, whether existing works or new commissions, for offices, hotels and commercial interiors.
Best for: masterplans, corporate headquarters and hotels seeking a signature artwork or art program, and anyone who has never commissioned an artist before.
-
We prepare clear artist briefs for approval and support artists through concept development to realise your project’s curatorial vision. Our Procurement Strategy documents the artworks approved for purchase, an updated timeline and the specialist support needed to guide your art collection from acquisition through to installation.

Artist Briefs: clear, plain-language briefs for your approval, setting out the vision, site, budget and expectations
Concept Development: curatorial guidance as artists develop their concepts, so the work stays true to the framework
Procurement Strategy: a document recording the approved artworks, an updated timeline and the specialists you’ll need from acquisition to installation
Best for: clients who have chosen their artists or artworks and want a clear path from approval to installation

We prepare a Handover + Maintenance Document that brings together artwork details, care instructions and key contacts to support any ongoing care. Our Artwork Catalogues provide a record of your collection, including artist biographies, artwork statements, images and locations.
Services within this stage
Handover + Maintenance Document: a single reference for each artwork covering its details, care instructions and who to contact, so your team knows how to look after it long after installation
Artwork Catalogue: a record of your collection with artist biographies, artwork statements, images and locations, useful for insurance, tours, marketing and future staff
Best for: clients who want their art properly documented and looked after, without having to piece the information together themselves.
